Live Bidding

Our auctions are free and open to the public with no obligation for the attendees to bid. There is no need to come for the beginning of an auction and stay for the entire sale; you may come and go from the auction as you please. Should you choose to bid at the live auction, you must register for a paddle at the entrance to the salesroom. If you pre-register at the preview, please visit the front desk to pick up your paddle on the day of the auction. Registration requires your full contact information and your signature agreeing to the Conditions of Sale.

Once the auction begins, the auctioneer will clearly announce the lot number and bid increments as the bidding begins and proceeds. To place a bid, raise your paddle to the auctioneer for his or her recognition. When all of the bidding is through, the auctioneer will give fair warning, sell the item to the final bidder, and announce the price and paddle number. When you are finished bidding on the lots in which you are interested, please pick up your invoice and make arrangements for payment and pickup.

For your convenience, in-house bidders may download a printable registration form. This may be faxed to 561-536-4123 or brought to our auction gallery in Boynton Beach, FL.

Telephone Bidding

Clients unable to attend the sale may still participate live at the auction by bidding on the telephone with a trained staff member. Please fill out and fax back the Telephone Bid Form. The completed form must be received no later than 5pm (EST) on the evening before the auction. Upon registering, an experienced staff member will call you the day of the auction approximately five lots before yours is scheduled to be sold. They will communicate with you what bid the auctioneer is asking for and execute your bids at your discretion. If you are successful, an invoice will be mailed to you the next day.

Absentee Bidding

For buyers unable to participate live in the salesroom or on the telephone, Elite Decorative Arts offers the option of leaving Absentee Bids. Absentee Bids work exactly as if the bidder were in the salesroom bidding up to a pre-determined price limit, except that the price limit is confidentially given to EDA. Our auctioneer will bid on your behalf alternately against other bidders until the bidding ends. In the event that the other bidders drop out before reaching the full amount of your left bid, you will purchase the lot at the next increment . The completed and signed bid forms must be received by us no later than 5pm (EST) on the evening before the auction.

Internet Bidding

All of our auctions are available on the internet for real time internet bidding. Our auctions can be viewed live on both eliteauction.com and liveauctioneers.com. By hosting our catalog with Live Auctioneers we are exposing our company and our clients' goods to virtually millions of proven affluent collectors and antique enthusiasts. In addition to pre-auction bidding they can also register to bid live on the internet the day of the auction and thus bid competitively just as a telephone bidder or any other absentee bidder might participate. This means more participation on your items, which translates to more competition and thus a greater return for you, the consignor. First time Internet bidders must register.
